The Barn Owl swallows a mouse whole and alive. There is nothing more true than a mouse taken in as food. After some time of digestion and development, what is left of the mouse is tossed back out, reinvented, reformed and dead. The Owl has taken what she could use and has discarded what she did not need or want.
But we are humans, not owls. We take in the newsfeed, swallowing it whole, every word, every sentence, each gesture and nuance. Our brains begin the process of transformation. We weed out what makes no sense and keep only that which will support our preconceived notions. But Mother Nature does not allow us to regurgitate that which we do not need or want. So it sticks in our craws until we choke on too much information that we cannot assimilate. To avoid this discomfort we begin to listen only to newsfeed that agrees with us.
