Your horrible, vast temptations
Climbed from between my yesterdays
Trying to explain,
To excuse, to justify.
I eat thy words and die.
Kings go on dancin’ ‘round.
Poets fill spring with boxes
of yellow and green,
Tossing crusts of kisses onto the fire.
You eat my words and die.
Queens will dance upon your grave.
Plays fill stages with tall tales,
Pulling lies from the ashes of desire.
