See Where Your First Flash Leads You

"See where your first flash leads you," she said to me as I climbed into the driver's seat of the Module 2950.  I held my breath and swallowed my first inclination which was to "flash" myself right out of there and never return.  Sure I signed up for this, but when it came right down to the unknown - like I mean the really, truly unknown - I was not so brave after all.  It wasn't even like "Jeopardy," where you could select your category.  No, this was totally random and totally unscheduled, a blast to past or future or even to an unknown I had not yet imagined.  Why did I sign up for this?
"Will it hurt?" I whispered.
"We've been over this, Jemma.  We don't know if you will feel pain because you have not ever tried it before."

Old habits broken
But never mended.
Friends follow
'Til you're 'round the bend.
If they trust you this far,
Why not all the way?
I don't believe in miracles
But I know they happen every day.
We must choose.
