Watching for Rainbows

My body, hunch backed against the wind,
Rain soaked clothes clinging to weary bones,
I glance back over my path
And see a shock of color drawn
Across a grey canvas.
Rainbow-calm teases a smile from my heart.

Standing on a grassy dune,  I watch this rainbow
Embrace Shakti Cove.
Not at the pot-of-gold end of the rainbow,
Not at the oh-so-bold beginning of the rainbow,
But Shakti Cove sits firmly in the powerful, peaceful,
Center of the bow.

Shakti Cove
a space for remembering star-blanket skies
even on darkest nights.
Shakti Cove
a time for memories of Blue Bottle summers
even amidst raging storms.
Shakti Cove
the unseen center of the rainbow,
of a promise fulfilled,
a prism focusing my vision.
